Vintage Vogue......

I made these for my lovely friend Sharon, whose birthday is on Easter Monday.....

The stamp set is Vintage Vogue from the new Mini Catalogue which goes LIVE on April 1st.....This stamp set will be perminately on my desk, I think!!! LOVE IT so much. The flowers are so easy to cut out and all the little leaves etc are so perfect.

Sharon loves Purple, so I decided to use Elegant Eggplant, Lavendar Lace and Pumpkin Pie. The pearls are from the Pretties Kit.
I made a gift box for Sharons Gift to go inside from the Grooms Speciality Papers. I have completely run out of these now. They really are so gorgeous.

The card is an Easel card, but a long version. You can get so much more on this size.

Anyway, Hope to upload some more bits before we go on Holiday.

Thanks for looking,

Mini Catalogue Sneak Peaks..........

There really is something for everyone in the new Mini Catalogue which is going live on the 1st April!!!

I think this stamp set called Vintage Vogue is going to be one of my favourite's. It has a matching wheel as well. This is the card I gave to my lovely Downline that managed to come to the Reading Training event. The papers are another Sneak peak....It comes from a huge Designer paper pack called Sweet Pea - 48 Sheets!!!!

When I saw the papers, I couldn't stop stroking them, they are gorgeous.
I decorated a note pad, pen and ruler all to match. Can you see the felt flowers?
Oh My! They are stitched felt flowers, leaves and spots. There are 52 pieces in the pack. They match a stamp set and the papers.
This was my swap card for the Stampin Up Demonstrators. I used the Bird on a Branch. The colours are Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate chip and Very Vanilla.

Your eyes haven't gone funny - Yes its CHOCOLATE CHIP SATIN RIBBON hee hee
More Stroking!!!

New Punches are in the catalogue as well!!! They are a new design as well, they fold up flat for neat storage.

The tiny tag is a new punch as well, it also has a matching stamp set.

Another Project using the Carousel Note cards a Little Pram which can hold some bibs or booties. (Actually they are Men's sports socks - they didn't have booties or bibs in the shop near me!! hee hee) More lovely Sweet Pea flowers.

The box is 11 1/4" x 4"

Along the 11 1/4" side, Score at 2", 5 1/2", 7 1/2", 11"

Along the 4" side, Score at 2"

If you want your own copy of the Mini Catalogue, drop me an email.

Animal Stories Stamp Class......

This is the project we will be making for tomorrow's stamp class. The stamp set is Animal Stories and the papers are called Tall Tales.

In the class we will be making this Gift Box.
Also a Shadow Box Card. You can make both of these from just over one piece of cardstock.
I love shadow box cards, as they are 3D but also fold flat for posting.

I mixed the Animal Stories with the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.

You can turn this owl into a cat as well!!!

The instructions are available on the right, they have both metric and inches in them,

3D Carousel Note Card....Tutorial

My lovely friend Janette made me one of these 3D cards for my birthday. I thought I would make one from the Carousel note cards, with the flight of the butterfly stamp set.
It folds up flat into a triangle.

And you tie it open with some ribbon.
This is the section where you could write your greeting.....
Let's get Started then,
You need 4 of the carousel note cards (or you could use 4 6" circles if you have a circle cutter or trace around a small dinner plate!)
After the following cuts you will end up with the carousel notes looking like this.

First carousel note.
Score the note in half and then turn it and score in half again, so you have a cross going through the centre. Now think of the carousel note as a clock face, Score up to the middle between 6 & 9 o'clock! At 3 o'clock cut out the score line to the centre point.
Use a 1/4" square punch to punch a hole in the top right hand section (probably 2.30 o'clock!!)
I line up the edge of the punch upside down with the edge that I had cut.

Turn it over and add double sided tape as shown. In the top two sections only.
Add a tiny piece of tape the other side of the square hole, this is going to hold the ribbon.

Now go onto the second carousel note. Do the same score lines as the previous one but this time cut away the 3 to 6 o'clock section as shown, by cutting up the first scallop, and then into the middle and then cutting off the section completely. Add tape to the tab that is left.

Do the same to the third carousel note.

The fourth carousel note is the same as the first one but this time score to the centre at 3 to 6o'clock section NOT the 6 to 9. Do the same with the square punch, This will give you a mirror image of the first carousel note.

Turn over and add the double sided tape as shown, only on one section. Plus the tiny piece for the ribbon to stick to .

You can stamp on the sections now before you put them all together......

Right then, Are you still with me???? hee hee
Go back to the first carousel not and thread a piece of ribbon about 8" or 20cm long from the inside of the punched square to where the tiny piece of tape is.
Then take the rest of the tape off and fold up. This is your first triangle.

You can see the ribbon is now sandwiched between the layers. Also the folded up section.

Again you can see it better here. I've numbered them for you to see.

Fold up the second carousel note using the tab on the outside. Add to the first again like a sandwich.

You can see the 3D part coming together now.

Do the same with the third carousel note.

Do the same with the ribbon to the fourth carousel note and add it last.

Your card will look like this, Can you see all the sections.

It folds flat but depending on the layers. You can tie it closed with the ribbon.

When you open it out it looks like this. When putting the sentiments on, only add double sided tape to the left of the scallop oval punch outs or you won't be able to fold up the card.

Have a try! It really is easy once you have a go.

Carousel Notes.....

I went to a Stampin' UP! Training day yesterday in Reading. We meet up with the most amazing Demonstrators. Gosh! If you haven't been to or held a home workshop yet, You must.

You can find your nearest Demonstrator by clicking on the Stampin Up Website on the left hand side of my blog and go under the Demonstrator Finder.

I was roped into doing a demonstration on a Product from the Stampin Up Catalogue. The Carousel notes come in a pack of 12, 4 Pretty in Pink, 4 So Saffron and 4 Mellow Moss, plus you get 12 gorgeous Chocolate Chip envelopes to match.

An easy way of making a special card is by joining two of the carousel notes together.

Just score a line between 6 scallops on the left. Join together with another Carousel note by using two jumbo eyelets. Tie a bow using the taffeta ribbon. This one is using the Live Your Dream stamp set.

I decorated the lid of a gift box with another one of the Carousel notes. Score a line every 6 Scallops, you will end up with a scored square in the centre of the Carousel note. Use double sided tape to add to the top of the box to match the card. The Pretties kit was used to add some flowers on top.

This is the Mellow Moss Carousel Notes. Close your eyes now if you don't want to think about Christmas Cards!!!! hee hee The stamp set is Scandinavian Season, stamped in Always Artichoke and coloured in with Mellow Moss marker. Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to sections of the Tree.

The box to match is similar to the Live Your Dream one. Just two lids instead of a bigger box.

You can see the score lines better here between each 6 scallops.

Don't forget the inside!!

This one is using the So Saffron Carousel notes and the A Good Egg stamp set.

The chocolate easter eggs were put in one of our large cello bags and a carousel note was wrapped around to make a cone shape. I held it in place with some double sided tape.

The paper is Tea party designer paper. I coloured in the chick with the Barely Banana SU Marker pen.

I will be changing the ribbon on these for my sons Easter Egg hunt at Easter - Eyes rolling!!! He's 15 and still wants an Easter Egg hunt. We are always in a caravan at Easter - How many places can you hide Chocolate Eggs in a Caravan........Tons of places. Keeps him busy for hours!

Check back tomorrow for a Tutorial on the Flight of the Butterfly Carousel Note Card.
