Saturday Sketches......

Morning Everyone! Trying to catch up with my blogs posts.... Can't believe it is Saturday already - Where has the last week gone?

I am using Beates Sketch again for this Saturday - Love all her layouts actually, they are very easy to work with. Pop over to Beates Blog for tons of Inspiration.

I used the Season of Joy stamp set (Yes I know Again you say!). I just wanted to show you that it doesn't have to be a Christmas set alone.
The Base card is Close to Cocoa, then some Close to Cocoa designer paper. The strips are Pretty in Pink 3.5" x 1.5", then some whisper white a touch smaller. I stamped the swirl in Close to Cocoa and then went all over with the tiny poinsetta flower in Pretty in Pink. I stamped 3 flowers in Pretty in Pink and cut them out. Three vintage brads were added to the centre of each one - The vintage brads go so well with Close to Cocoa card/papers.
The scallop circle is Close to Cocoa, then 1 3/8 circle in Pretty in Pink. The sentiment is Basic Phrases. I added an insert which I also attached a strip of designer paper to the inside.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, We are taking the boys to the Threatre for the first time to see a Play, Hope they like it.

Polka Dot & Paisley Stamp Class....

Good Morning! What a lovely evening last night with my Craft Buddies. They really are such a talented bunch! It was Ken's Birthday so we were singing as well.....

This is the project we will be making today. Its a card wallet holding 3 cards & envelopes. I used the Polka Dot & Paisley stamp set. I will miss this little stamp set. I've used it so much over the last year and the dots make such a nice background, if you are frightened of using the large background stamps!

I used Tempting Turquiose, Regal Rose, So Saffron, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock. Same colours for the inkpads.

The scallop circle holds the flap down.
I kept the cards simple, so not to bulk out the wallet, but there is actually a fair amount of room inside the wallet.

I hope to get back to my normal posts tomorrow,

I am going to be up the window today (with Sid - Our noses on the glass)!!!!!!

I think my huge pile of NEW Stampin' Up Catalogues might come today.........:-)

The poor DHL Man won't know whats happening........

Tuesday Two Cards - Two Colours.......

Its my Snowflake Spot Stamp Class today and the Blue ones are what we will be making. I decided to make the same project in a different colour way for my Tuesday Blog Post......
This Z-Card is Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue and Whisper White.
This colourway is Bravo Burgundy, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.
All these cards are completely stamped, No Designer paper was used, for a change! These snowflakes are lovely for adding different products, like the pearls I used, or glitter, gemstones etc. They have lots of spots and dots where you can add the extra embellishments.

You can see the video on the right hand side for the Stay Put Knot.

Making the most of SU Punches - Round Tab Punch

There are so many ideas for the Round Tab Punch.....
Remember this card, A Pocket card using the Polka Dot & Paisley stamp set. You use it for pulling out the insert. Its just punched and folded in half.
For this idea, you can slip an image in the punch out, see the bracket parts of the punchout holding the image.

This is the circle you can make when you punch out the Round tab punch and then go over it the opposite way.

There are so many more ideas, like handbags, slider cards..... Leave a comment with what you use your Round Tab Punch for.

Making the Most of SU Punches - Round Tab Punch

To Punch a circle using the Round Tab Punch, Punch near the corner of a piece of cardstock.

Then go in from the opposite side and punch over the punch out, Lining up with the top and bottom corners of the rounded top.
The circle if big enough to fit the Stampin' Up Scallop circle. Just like the Wild about You card above.

Saturday Sketch.......Beates Friday Challenge

For this Saturdays Sketch, I decided to use Beates Friday Sketch. If you don't already know Beate does a Sketch every Friday where you can play along.

I used True Friend stamp set, also Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow and Whisper white cardstock. I started by cutting a piece of A4 chocolate chip in half lengthways. I stamped all over the front first with the Sanded Background stamp and then went over it with the leaf stamp. I cut some rectangles with my nesties, the large one in whisper white was embossed with the cuttlebug embossing folder. I stamped the flowers and cut them out, stem and all! I attached them with my 2way glue pen and then added the tiny flowers to the centre with a couple of vintage brads.

I finished it off with the Thank U stamp.......

This is Beates Sketch.....Pop over to her Blog and check out her beautiful card & More..

Hope you all have a nice weekend,

Forgotten Stamps Friday....

For this weeks Forgotten Stamps set, I choose Simply Said. I haven't really forgotten about it, in the sense, that I hadn't even mounted it!!! I just haven't used it for a few days......

The base card is Apricot Appeal. I cut away 2cm from the front right hand side and added a piece of basic blac cardstock, which I punched down both sides with the spiral punch. The black gingham ribbon was added before adding the piece to the base card. I stamped over the bottom half in Apricot Appeal with the bold flower. The whisper white layer is 4.5cm x 7cm, the flowers were stamped using the Stamp a ma jig, to complete the 2 step stamping technique...

I pricked a few holes for the stem and added a gingham knot, also a black brad was added to the centre of the flower. The black layer is 5cm x 7.5cm, both layered were mounted up on 3D Dimensionals.

The corner rounder was used for the sentiment but only on 2 sides, the other sides were left butting up to the edge of the card.

Sorry later than usual, Just trying catch up today....... Also had some exciting news relating to the catalogue launch:-)

OMG!!!!!!!!! We will be getting the NEW Scallop Border Punch in the new Catalogue.

And More! It will cost £10.95, its like the Fiskars Threading Water one but with NO holes in each Scallop.

See you tomorrow,

Tutorial Thursday - Tea Bag Gift

Sorry this post is a day late. I didn't get around to taking the photos in time yesterday, then it got too dark for them to come out. I was trying to get some more information about the fire in the Channel Tunnel as we are due to go to Paris next week to celebrate our 2oth Wedding Anniversary.....Its was still not out this morning.
Anyway back to the post. I used So Saffron, Rose Red cardstock, Cutie Pie Paper and whisper white.
Firstly, cut a piece of cardstock 17cm x 7cm. Score at 4cm, 4.5cm, 12cm, and 12.5cm.
Fold the bottom up (the 4cm end is the bottom) and staple both sides.
Cut a piece of Cutie Pie paper 15cm x 2cm and add some double sided tape to the back.
Wrap the Cutie Pie paper all around, so covering up the staples.

Thursday Tutorial - Tea Bag Gift

Stamp the lid. I used the leaf from the Preview TRUE FRIENDstamp set in So Saffron.
Stamp the Enjoy stamp from Be Happy and layer onto some Rose Red.
Add 2 3D Dimensionals at the bottom.
Add this to the bottom part of the Tea Bag Holder.
Add a fruity teabag to complete..... Smells Gorgeous!

Midweek Mini Cards.....

Hi Everyone! I've made slightly larger Mini Cards for this wednesday, 21cm x 10.5cm, folded in half, still square ones though!
I was telling the Girls yesterday at my Wild about You Class that I wanted to make some Christmas cards using the little Penguin from the Wild about You stamp set and these are what I came up with this morning.....
All of the cards are Bashful Blue for the base card 21cm x 10.5cm. I stamped this first one with Snow Flurries stamp set (its on the Retired list....)in Bashful Blue ink. The next layer is 7.5cm x 7.5cm in Basic Black, 7cm x 7cm in Bashful Blue and finally 6.5cm x 6.5cm in Whisper White. I stamped 2/3rds of the Whisper white with the Dotty Background stamp in Bashful Blue and then the sentiment is from the Season of Joy NEW stamp set previewed. The penguin was stamped in Black stazon and cut out using the 1 1/4" circle punch, layered on Black 1 3/8" circle punch and then a Bashful Blue Scallop circle. I added some Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon and Black gingham ribbon around the centre of the layers. The scallop is popped up with dimensionals.
This card I used Lavendar Lace to go with the Bashful Blue. The lavendar lace layer is 10cm x 10cm, then whisper white 9.5cm x 9.5cm, which I stamped all over with the Dotty Background stamp in Bashful Blue ink and then stamped one of the Snow Flurries down the right edge in Lavendar Lace. The sentiment is from the Season of Joy which I inked up with my Lavendar Lace Marker to miss out the dots under it. I stamped the snowflake from the Season of Joy set in Bashful and punched out using the 1 1/4"circle and added the bashful blue 1 3/8" circle. I added a silver brad in the centre of the snowflakes. I stamped the Penguin in Bashful blue and added some Dazzling Diamonds for his tummy....
Are you bored yet?????? Hee!
All bashful Blue for this one. The whisper white layer is 9.5cm x 9.5cm embossed with the snowflake folder from cuttlebug. I added a layer of Bashful blue 3cm x 9.5cm attached it to the embossed layer, I used the crop a dile (large hole) to go in from the side to do the stay put knot. (See Video on the right if you have forgotten or need to know how to do this).
I added some Blue Gingham ribbon. Then I stamped the Large flower from the TRUE FRIENDNew stamp set on whisper white in Bashful Blue and cut it out. I layered this onto Bashful Blue cardstock and cut it out leaving a bit.

It makes a lovely flower but what about this for a snowflake? I stamped the penguin in Bashful Blue and punched it out as above, I popped this up.

Cor! This is a monster of a post - Hope you like,

Midweek Mini Cards......

I made this card at Craft Club on Monday Evening, using one of the Preview Stamp sets that will be in the next Catalogue - Season of Joy - Don't you just love the swirl stamp in this set. The set is Die Cut as well!!!

I used the 1/4" Square punch to make the border along the bottom as I showed you on my Monday post. The cardstock used is Real Red, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Dashing papers. The card is 21cm x 10.5cm folded in half.

I used the gold brads from Stamin' Up! - The first time in ages:-0

Making the Use of Stampin' Up! Punches......

Sorry this post is later today, I've been so busy with catching up with stuff, Is anyone else wishing there were more hours in the day???

I have always used this 1/4" Square punch for my Slider cards, as its the same size as Stampin' Up 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon. It just slides so smoothly.
This is one of the cards we will be making tomorrow at my Stampin' Up! Stamp Class - Wild About You......

I also use this punch to make a Zig Zag border.
You start off my angling the punch as shown. Join up where you last punched and then you will end up with the Zig Zag Border......

I pricked dots in each segment, on this part. I will be making a card on Wednesday using this technique.

I have also used this punch like the 1/2" circle punch, to add a piece of cardstock behind a brad.
